The WR200R is a kick-start, liquid-cooled two-stroke enduro bike using Yamaha's YPVS power-valve system for a wider spread of power than a plain 200 cc piston-port engine. A six-speed gearbox, tall seat and generous ground clearance make it a trail and off-road machine for taller riders. Disc brakes front and rear were fitted, unusual for the class at the time.
